“All of the children that I have worked with over the past twenty years, as well as my own three, have been my greatest teachers.”
Jane D’Arcy is a family counsellor at SKATTLE and her goal is to offer young people and their families a place to talk about difficulties in ways that leave them feeling capable and excited about life.
Jane is also passionate about offering training and professional development opportunities to practitioners in the field to enable them to have more helpful conversations with their client groups, and to prevent the all too common ‘burn out’.
Jane’s orienting belief is that when people don’t have an opportunity to talk about their feelings life can sometimes seem pretty hard.
She’s also learnt that trying to impose her own hopes and ideas is not nearly as helpful as hearing about individual experiences.
This guides a lot of the work Jane does, both as a trainer and counsellor.
Jane loves yoga and running, and can be found most mornings trekking around Mt Cootha with her dog Henry.
